Michelangelus

An opt-in serif for headings and body text, with expressive real italics.

Michelangelus is a separately loaded serif family for headings and standard body text. Its real Italic and Bold Italic faces add an expressive change of voice. The CDN hosts every font in the supplied archive, with the original bytes preserved. Makira and Paper Mono remain the standard pair.

Headings, body text, and italics

Use the same family for a strong heading and comfortable paragraph text. Regular suits standard body copy; Bold provides hierarchy. Italics can carry a heading phrase or subtle emphasis inside a paragraph without switching families.

A lasting impression, quietly made.

Good typography gives an idea room to breathe. Michelangelus works as everyday reading text, with a steady rhythm and an italic voice that feels distinctive and considered.

Use bold for structure. Keep paragraph spacing comfortable, and let bold italic provide emphasis when the words call for it.

Typography and metadata

Start with normal tracking for body text. For display text, inspect serif collisions before applying negative letter spacing; slightly positive spacing can work better. Use font-synthesis: none when verifying the supplied faces.

Family metadata records checksums, weights, styles, glyph counts, and inspected OpenType tags for each face. The live catalog exposes this entry as fonts["michelangelus"], with availability: "opt-in" and included_in_all: false.

Ownership

The supplied fonts identify Gusto IDS / studiogusto in their embedded copyright and manufacturer metadata. The archive contained no standalone license. These files are hosted at the owner’s request; public access does not grant redistribution rights or make the family an open-source font.
